Thirty Danfodites Selected for GNI Academic First Mentorship Cohort

The Board of Directors of Greenline Nurture Initiative (GNI) after thorough screening and scrutiny of the applicants of its maiden academic mentorship cohort, had on Wednesday 22 December, 2021 released the list of the successful applicants.
GNI Academic Mentorship Cohort is a free 6-month program for outstanding undergraduate finalists in Sokoto State, initiated by two lecturers at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Professor Jimoh Olaiya Amzat (JOA), a lecturer at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Dr Kazeem Aremu, a lecturer at the Department of Mathematics, UDUS.
The platform is aimed at grooming and nurturing young people aspiring for greater heights, to maximise their potentials and make a bright future for themselves.
It also has a special interest in academic excellence, as it scouts out young persons who strive for academic excellence, and mentors them on how to navigate higher academic ventures.
According to the official release on the non-profit organization Facebook page, the cohort offers intensive training on processes and procedures of securing international scholarships and fellowships.
Recall that the organization called for applications which started on the 15th day of November, 2021, and ended on the 5th of December 2021. The successful applicants have been announced through the official Facebook page of the organization, where 32 students were listed.
Among the selected applicants were thirty (30) students from the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and other two (2) students from the Sokoto State University.
"Congratulations to all who have been selected!," the press release reads.
The selected applicants have been urged to send an acceptance mail (with their names and phone numbers) to greenlinenurture@gmail.com before Monday, 27th December 2021. This is to confirm their interest and availability.
They have also, been informed to note that, the GNI Academic Mentorship Cohort will feature mostly virtual sessions.
"So participants are encouraged to always have internet access," it added.
