TAKE YOUR GST COURSES VERY SERIOUS — GST LECTURER

A GST lecturer, Mr AK Tsafe, has on Saturday 30th of march 2018 charged the students to take the general studies courses very serious.
He said this during a GST 212 lecture comprises  students from the faculty of Educational Foundations and Educational Technology and Curriculum Studies which was held precisely in L5 hall, faculty of law at about 12 pm.

Prior to the commencement of the lecture, he made it clear that students who do not meet the 75% attendance would not be eligible to sit for the GST exams.

He went further to explain that many students do not take GST courses seriously because it is not part of their departmental courses. He insists that this is not advisable as GST was introduced by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC)  in order to enable Nigerian Undergraduates  to become sound and balanced.

"Studying GST gives Nigerian Undergraduates the privilege to compete academically with their counterparts in foreign universities like Harvard. This is because it exposes them to a lot of things," he believes.

In an interview with PEN PRESS reporter subsequently after the lecture, he mentioned that sometimes students are responsible for their own failure.

"Some students do not attend lectures regularly. When they fail they blame the GST division for their woes," he said.

"I have taught in this University for over seven years and I can tell by experience that those who don't attend lectures are mostly the victims of failure in the various GST courses," he concluded.

He finally advised students to take the lecture seriously by attending the lectures and doing their assignments regularly
