UDUS Management Announces Three Days Public Holiday

The management of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS), has announced three days as holidays, sequel to the Federal Government's declaration of public holidays to commemorate Christmas, Boxing Day and the New Year celebration.

The management disclosed in a circular released on Friday, 23rd December, that the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, 26th, and Tuesday, 27th December, to mark the Christmas and Boxing day celebrations, respectively.

“Similarly, Monday, January 2nd, 2023 has been declared as public holiday to mark boxing day and new year respectively,” part of the circular read. 

The circular further explained that staff members on shift duty, emergency or essential services in the various units are exempted “and will report for duty as usual”. 

“Work resumes Wednesday 28th December, 2022 and Tuesday 3rd January, 2023 respectively,” it stated.

The management, however, noted that in view of the disseminated information, all offices will remain closed during the holidays. 

“Please remember to switch off all the electrical appliances in your office during the periods,” the University authority urged, wishing everyone a happy and peaceful celebration.
