"What is happening over there?" a security officer asked. My friend Ibrahim insisted that we must report the incident to the security office.
I didn't want to go because I didn't want Zainab to know about the incident, but my friend insisted, he said it's for my safety, because these hoodlums threatened to come back.
On reaching the security office I narrated the horrorful incident to them
"They called me all the dirty names they could think of and they slapped my face" I said,
" They threatened to come and finish me off if I don't leave my fiancée" I added
The security man looked at me and said, " so it's because of a woman!"
Now you tell us who sent them"The security man asked
"How am I supposed to know that, sir" I said" Maybe you don't understand me. I mean who is her second boy friend" he said. Second boyfriend?! I asked myself "no sir she has none"" I think we will need her here" he said,"No!" I moaned
"Sir please I don't want her to know this happened because she will be too worried" I added.
"Okay then, you will have to find that out and get back to us tomorrow"I know that, asking her would be tantamount to telling her about the incident, so I decided to figure out myself.
As I reached home, I sat down silently on my bed thinking- "who is this guy trying to hijacked Zainab from me?
Who could be his second boy friend? I soliloquised
The first person that came to my mind was Hadiza "what! It can't be her" I whispered to myself as I stood up.
I recalled my last conversation with her when she was telling me that Zainab's dad will never let me marry his daughter because she is not my type.
Hadiza, whom I have blocked from calling me, because of her constant calls and unflagging text messages, but now I need to settle things.
"Hello! Sadeeq please why are you avoiding me?"Hello, Hadiza are you there" I cut her up "are you in school now" I asked"Yes ! I'm at MH2 now" she replied"Okay I'm coming there now" I hanged up.
As I entered MH2 I sighted her sitting at the back role of the hall, I went straight to her. She was looking beautiful in her red gown with a pink veil. the smile on her face made her look more beautiful.I sat beside her and confronted her " "Hadiza, please listen to me. It pains me more that I used to reject your calls but I have no choice.
It just galls me that it's you that wants me to betray your best friend"
She only sat looking at me "I love Zainab and nothing can ever stop that, please Hadiza I beg you in the name of God stop this your silly thoughts, I've been hiding it from her, I just wonder how bad she would feel if she finds out about this.
Please Hadiza don't hurt her feelings" I said calmly as I held her hands to mine."So you only care about her right" there came her tin voice "what about me? You don't care about my own feelings? I know you love me, you are only afraid to admit...."I don't love you" I retorted"
That's not true" she shouted on top of her voice making almost everybody attention shifted to us."You are lying to me and to yourself, and I will make you realize that you love me" she said sobbing and speedily walked out of the hall.I can feel it, Hadiza is up to something and I need to get ready to fight for my love"
Zainab needs to be aware of everything that transpired between me and Hadiza, otherwise she will suffer even more in the future" I thought as I picked out my phone to call her quickly, I dialled her number, she did not hesitate to pick up. "Hello, my puppet! I was just about to call you" she said " I have a surprise for you" she added excitedly "Ehn! Just tell me sweetheart, you know I don't like surprises" I said smiling " quests first" she said laughing"Please! please! Just tell me" I whined"Okay" she laughed " I just told Dad about you and he wants to see you!
