The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto has amended its official logo to correct the mistake in the Arabic words inscribed on the university logo.
This development was communicated to the University environment through the Facebook page of the School Social Media Monitoring Officer, Mr. Salahuddeen Bello Bala, on Monday 10 January 2022.
According to the statement on his page, the amendment was done as a result of lamentations from the University fans and well-wishers about an error acknowledged to the Arabic words on the logo.
Mr Salahuddeen said that the logo was redesigned by a volunteered samaritan, and the amendments to the error as observed were made.
PEN PRESS gathered that the Arabic inscription on the previous official logo of the University reads:
جلمعة عثمن بن فودى"
While the redesigned reads correctly as:
"جامعة عثمان بن فودي".
"This is to thank Mukhtar Shehu Illela of FPS, BUK for the redesigned logo, and facilitated by Mansur Isah Sulaiman from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences UDUS," his statement reads.
He further stated that the management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, will henceforth, adopt the new logo.
"The school will be making use of this logo throughout its official social media platforms," he noted.
