UDUS Participates in 2021 Caliphate Debate 2.0 Competition

The students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, have also joined other tertiary institutions in Sokoto State to participate in the annual Caliphate Debate Competition.
Caliphate Debate Competition is a worlds' university debating championship standards with the introduction of the British parliamentary debating style. The models of which are different from the known and archaic debating system.
The first edition of this Caliphate Debate was held in December 2020 and this year competition is the second edition of its kind ever to have been introduced in the whole of Northern Nigeria and is convened by Bar. Najib Waziri Tambuwal, Esq. AClarb.


It is a three-day programme; 28th, 29th and 30th of December 2021 that comprises eight teams of different participating tertiary institutions. The tertiary institutions are to participate in five preliminary rounds after which four teams will qualify for the finals.
However, they're supposed to conduct the first to third-round yesterday but due to the time constraint, only two-round were held and the result has not been released as of the time of filing this report.
The participating institutions include:
1 - Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
2- Sokoto State University.
3- School of Nursing UDUTH.
4- Sheu Shagari College of Education.
5- College of Nursing Science Tambuwal.
6- Sokoto State College of Nursing and Midwifery.
7- Sultan Abdulrahman College of Health Technology Gwadabawa.
8- State College of Legal and Islamic Studies Wamakko.
