IESU UDUS Calls for Help over Reconstruction of Burnt Shop

Abdulrasheed Akere Abdulkareem reports,

Ilorin Emirate Students' Union (IESU), Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) chapter, has called the general public to assist the union financially in the reconstruction of her burnt office/shop located at UDUS hostel mini-mart.

Recall that PEN PRESS reported on 10th December 2021 that the fire gutted a shop belonging to the IESU and the union has taken a bold step in commencing the reconstruction of the shop on the 10th, December 2021. The union, however, called for financial assistance for the completion of the project.

While speaking with PEN PRESS, Sheik Sulyman Ridwan Logun, a 400-Level student of Modern European and Linguistics Language (MELL) and president of the union expressed his sadness over the incident that happened to the union, noting that the union lost valuable properties to fire outbreak last month.

He said: “The entire union uses this medium to appreciate the school management and other good hearts that show us sympathy over the disaster. The union has organized a 'project committee' for the reconstruction of the office in collaboration with her excos and Board Of Trustee (B.O.T)."

Aromaradu Abdulkabir, the chairman of the project committee and welfare director of the union said no one has given the union any funds for the reconstruction of this shop. He, however, called the affluent individuals in the society to help the union financially to execute the project.

"The money we used to start the project is from the union account but there is no sufficient fund in the union account anymore which calls for the support of the hands that care for the progress of Emirate," he said.

He added, "anyone that wishes to render help to IESU should contact the president on 08099492546, the chairman of the project committee on 09035998073 or the union P.R.O on 08104255058".

Usman Toibat Abolade, the financial secretary of the union said that the union will appreciate anyone that renders help to IESU and also prayed to God to bless the prospective helpers abundantly.
