UDUS SU CTC Set to Distribute Uniforms to Yarinya Girls in Females Hostels

Daud Musbaudeen reports,

In a bid to reduce the overpopulation of the errand girls (Yarinya) and promote security in female students' halls of residence at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, the students' Union caretaker committee has introduced uniforms to be put on by Yarinya girls as means of identification.

The CTC Vice Chairman, Abdulazeez Fatimah, disclosed this in a press release dated Saturday, 13th November 2021 and signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the SU CTC chairman, Comrade Ibrahim A. Khalifa.

According to the press release, the designed uniforms are made in different colours with numbers and are ready for these Yarinya girls in female halls of residence.

The statement reads thus: "The Union has designed a uniform for all Yarinya girls in every female hostel with different colours and means of Identifications for easier understanding."

The Vice-chairman also made it known that the distribution of the uniform to the concerned Yarinya girls will be through the Hall-Governor of each block in the halls of residence.

"However, these uniforms will be given to the concerned girls through the Hall governor of each block, starting from Monday 15th November 2021," it reads.

She urged all female students in every hostel to take note of the number on the uniform of every girl that works for them.

She, however, added that those Yarinya girls with no means of identification will no longer be allowed in the hostels henceforth.
