The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, has invited the public to a One-Day workshop on intellectual property.
The Chief host of the workshop is the UDUS Vice-Chancellor and Professor Yusuf Saidu, DVC, Research Innovation and Development, UDUS as its host. This workshop comes up on Monday 15th November 2021 by 10:00 a.m at the University Auditorium, main campus.
The chairman of the occasion is Mr John O. Asein, DG, Nigerian Copyright Commission, Abuja and the theme of the workshop is "Intellectual Property Protection, Ownership and Transfer".
The workshop is scheduled to cover five sub-themes with different speakers to facilitate each sub-theme. The sub-themes are:
1. Strengthening Intellectual Property Right and Protection
Speaker: Mr. Oluwatobiloba Moody (Head, World Intellectual Property Organization, Nigeria Office, Abuja).
2. Intellectual Property Ownership and Transfer
Speaker: Dr. Murtala Aminu (Executive secretary, Nigerian Law Reform Commission).
3. Patent and Copyright Registration
Speaker: Dr Dan Azumi Muhammad Ibrahim (Director General National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) Abuja.
4. Commercialization of Intellectual Research Property
Speaker: Prof. Sani Ibrahim (Department of Biochemistry, ABU ZARIA).
5. Translational Research: From Laboratory to Bedside
Speaker: Prof S. A. Isezuo (Department of Medicine, Faculty of clinic services CHS–UDUS.
