Immaculate Kondo, a 200-level undergraduate of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has been released by her abductors in Zamfara state.

The student of accounting, last week Tuesday, was kidnapped alongside other passengers along the Zamfara–Sokoto axis.

PEN PRESS in an exclusive interview with her brother, Oryiman Kondo, confirmed her release this evening.

"She was released this evening alongside 5 other victims after so many pleadings and negotiations with the kidnappers," he said.

Speaking further, he said that millions of naira was paid to get Immaculate and 5 others out of the den of the kidnappers.

"We had to take the money inside the bush where the kidnappers were. The kidnappers called us and told us the exact location to meet with them. They made sure that no police officer was trailing us.

"After it has been confirmed that the money was complete they released Immaculate and the other 5 victims who were held hostage," he said.
