ROTARACT UDUS GETS CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION

The Rotaract Club Of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has on 11th, February 2019, bagged the "Chartered Certificate" from Rotary International which moves the club from Provisional Club to a recognized club in the world.






The  "chatterment"(approval) letter which was revamped  after it has been withdrawn 8 years ago, due to the club inertness would enable the club and its members to be recognized in the world and also enable them to get sponsorship for their projects.








The Rotaract Club President, Udus chapter, ISCP Mustapha Mustapha Usman, told PEN PRESS that he received the congratulatory message with some attachments via his mail( copied to district officers and the adviser) which stated that RAC UDUSOK has been acknowledged as a "chattered" club sponsored by Rotary Club of Abuja City and Rotary Club of Kastina Metropolis, Nigeria.






The president also expressed his gratitude to Almighty God for the success of the certificate despite the challenges of Man Power and  financial constraints.


He said  that getting the "chatterment" is not in his manifestos for the club; it just appeared to be the priority after some months in office.






The President also said that his next plans for the club is to execute more projects in order to earn citation and awards from RI (Rotary International ),  District and Zonal level respectively and also to be able induct new members, he said, "We plan to execute three or more projects in the coming month, though the projects will be executed based on the RI calendar as there is theme for every project"




 The projects include Vocational, Community, Educational to mention but a few, " we've planned to reschedule our projects that were not executed as a result of the Industrial action by ASUU" Mustapha said


He noted that the strike does not  hinder the administration from getting awards or citation if the projects planned can be executed.


In an interview with the Staff Adviser of the Club, Dr. Sheikh Abubakar, he explained that the development will pave away for the president and his members to represent the club anywhere in the world and also it will enable the club to get sponsorship for its projects

He said: "The club will be recognized  internationally, the members of the club as well as the President and Advisor will have the opportunity to represent Rotary International worldwide, National and International sponsorship opportunities will be provided for the club, rebates and other financial discounts for the chartered  club will be available, to mention but a few benefits of being a chartered club" .






 He also pointed out that "the duties of the club include touching, helping, transforming members and community  positively, ensuring its activities tally with Rotary International, to counsel people on how to be a good citizens and leaders and if these duties are deviated from it can lead to the withdrawal or termination as one of the Rotary"


He  finally congratulated the President and the entire members of the club and encouraged them to intensify their effort in serving the humanity, he said, " As for the members, let me first congratulate us for this milestone achievement particularly the President and members of the Chartered Board Of Directors. They must not relent,  the journey is not over yet for successes. The leaders should always see the positive part of their followers. We all must intensify our effort to achieve success in all our endeavours.





"Individual members should always see themselves as the President and strive as if they are the President. Let us succeed collectively through our individual efforts. he concluded.
