DANFODIYO DONS BAG 'NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN' AWARDS

Two lecturers and four students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University have recently bagged awards for contributing to the 'Not-Too-Young-To-Run' Movement in Sokoto.

The award  presentation which held at Giginya hotel on the 19th of December 2018
featured the presence of Youth Leaders from all axis in Sokoto State.

The lecturers who were awarded are Mal. Mansur Isah Buhari of English Language Department and Dr Bashir Achida of Economics Department.

The student awardees are;
Sidi Mujitaba, Abubakar Muhammed from Faculty of Law  Maryam Muhammad Danko  from Microbiology department and Shaman Bashar from Mathematics department

The Sokoto State Coordinator of the movement Amb. Yakubu Abubakar,  explained that the awardees have contributed immensely towards the development of the movement in sokoto state.
"These awardees are from almost every angle of Sokoto State and have shown great interest and were passionate towards the activities of Not Too Young To Run Movement in Sokoto State, we organized this event to honor them and to also appreciate there constant encouragement and support" he said.

One of the awarded lecturers, Mal. Mansur while speaking with our correspondent urged Nigerian youths to support the movement  by all possible means.

He noted that,  being a law abiding and patriotic citizen is also a way of supporting the movement.

"I urge every Nigerian youth to be law abiding and be a patriotic citizens that is the best way to support the Not-too-young-to-run movement. Any Nigeria  within the age of adulthood  automatically becomes a member " he said

In an interview with Sidi Mujitaba who spoke with our correspondent after the event expressed gratitude to God almighty and also appreciated the movement.

 He also emphasized on the importance of the movement to the Nigerian Youths and urge every Nigerian youth to support the movement for a brighter future.

He said, "Not Too Young To Run is a worthy investment in the political activities of Nigerian youths, it is an opportunity for the youth who form 65% of the Nigerian population and 53% of registered voters to go into politics and bring about new and more scientific ideas to the political system of Nigeria, the era of excuses is over and it is now the time for serious engagement in governance".
