2018 is a remarkable, fantastic and amazing year for Danfodites, full of unforgettable memories. Indeed, a pivotal year that will remain in the hearts of Danfodites forever. Though it was not without terrific and touching moments.

The year is ending, leaving fascinating memories in our minds, it was no doubt the most amazing year for all Danfodites. Lots of Danfodites did excellently great from almost every angle; campus politics, campus journalism, academic achievements etc.

Despite the absence of Mass Communication department in the Varsity, UDUS Students kept soaring higher and breaking laudable records in the field of journalism.

Earlier this year, two UDUS campus journalists; Ibrahim Olarotimi and Jameelah Yusuf bagged Youths Digest awards for campus journalists outshining their counterparts across the nation.

That's not all, also PEN PRESS UDUS bagged the award of best campus news outfit in Nigeria, at the same time a former Editor-in-chief of the board, Hassan Temitope also bagged the award of the Veteran Journalist of the year at the National Union of Campus Journalists (NUCJ) convention in Abuja.

In addition to this, for the first time in the history, PEN PRESS launched a Video documentary was launched titled; "THE UNTOLD UDUS STORY" which  featured the unveiling of a heart-warming story of UDUS varsity and surrounding.

The political structure of UDUS was also unique in 2018. We saw it for the first time when the city campus students came out with full force to take over the presidency of the Students' Union. I'm sure we still remember the aftermath of the election.

The acute controversy that entangled elongation of the Jatau bridge, the suspension of the SU president and two of his principal officers and the Cold War that followed until a divine intervention from nowhere are scenarios that shaped the political city of UDUS Students' Union.

We were also taken abased when the news of dissolution of the elected executives of the National Union of Kebbi State Students (NUKESS) by the Ministry of Tertiary Education of the state hit the atmosphere.

In the academic aspect, Kareemat Ijiaya is one of the students that shaped the atmosphere for bagging  First Class honor from Nigeria Law School.

Another record breaker is Zainab Bashir who bagged the highest ever CGPA from Physics Department.

Umar Aminu Yandaki is another icon in the history of record breakers in 2018 for breaking a 33 years old record set by the present INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakoob to graduate with First Class from History department of UDUS.

Also in 2018, two Danfodiyo lecturers and four students were honored by the Not-too-young-to-Run movement in Sokoto State.

It was also in 2018 that a Danfodite broke another jinx to emerge as the youngest ever president of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS).

In the same 2018 a talented  UDUS novelist, Murjanatu Alkali launched her first published book titled; "From The Eyes of a Spinster" which have recorded tremendous response from the audience.

AS we celebrated together let's also sing the dirge together. Indeed 2018 has gone with the lives of many Danfodites, from lecturers, students and even fresh graduates.

The death of Hauwa'u Garba Shehu had came to us as a surprise. The Final Year Microbiology Philantrophist was until her death, the Treasurer of Students' Union.

Earlier in the session, two students had accident on their way to School and eventually gave up the ghost setting the whole UDUS community blazing in pain.

The death of a fresh medical doctor, Dr Ahmad Nagwamatse is another mourning day in the University.

May their souls and others not mentioned rest in perfect peace.

The pains of the Plane Crash of UDUSULTANS out of Higher Institutions Football League is another loss we recorded.

Are you aware that in 2018 the MIS upgraded Students Results Portal to calculating CGPA automatically?

What is your most memorable day in 2018 in UDUS?
