The Students’ Union Caretaker Committee of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, under the chairmanship of Muhammad Shamshudeen Umar, has commended the efforts of the university management over the construction of speed bumps across the university roads within the campus.
The construction of a speed bump came after the Students' Union encouraged the management to construct a speed bump to avert accidents within the campus. The union directed it to the office of the Dean Students’ Affairs, Prof Aminu Mode for quick action on the project.
While speaking with the SU CTC chairman, Shamshudeen Umar, he noted that the essence of calling the attention of the management to construct the speed bumps is to reduce the high rate of speed of the buses and motorcycles and to protect the students from unforeseen accidents that may arise within the university community.
He, however, praised the management for the swift action taken on the suggestion made by the union.
"We're glad and grateful to the management for responding to our callings and observations, " he stated.
