The Students' Union Caretaker Committee of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, under the chairmanship of Muhammad Shamshudeen Umar, has called for volunteers amongst the students of UDUS to participate in the All-Nigeria Universities Debating Championship (ANUDC) which is set to hold at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, starting from the 13th of February to the 19th of February, 2022.
The All-Nigeria Universities Debating Championship (ANUDC) is an annual debate competition for the undergraduate students of Universities across the country. The tournament structure is an adoption of British parliamentary style of debate. Additionally, the University of Ilorin would be organizing the 2nd edition of the All-Nigeria Universities Quiz challenge (ANUQC) alongside the debating championship.
While speaking with the SU CTC chairman, Shamshudeen Umar, he said that the essence of calling for the voluntary participation of students that will represent the school was to be free, fair, credible and open to the students in the course of selecting the representatives for the University.
He, however, called on the students that deemed it fit to represent the school in the debate competition to be present for the inner-screening that will be held at the SU secretariat on Saturday, 5th of February, 2022.
"I will be very glad if our heroes can come out and bring the championship at home as usual because, UDUS is known for its excellence and championship. Let’s go and take our championship again," he encouraged.
