Table Tennis: ITTF Ranks Nigeria's Qaudri Aruna 11th in the World

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has ranked Nigeria's Aruna Quadri as the 11th best table tennis player in the world. This is contained in the federation's release for January which also features other Africans among the biggest movers in the game.

With the Nigerian 33-year-old clinching new heights at 11th, Egypt's duo of Omar Assar moved five places up to occupy the 25th position and Yousra Helmy gained eight places up to be rated 81st in the world ranking. In the list, Olajide Omotayo, also made huge moves as he rose 13 places to hit 86th in the world just as Bode Abiodun leaped 16 places from 141 behind to be ranked 125th in the world.

In the female rankings, Edem Offiong, another Nigerian star hit top 100 after gaining nine steps up, making her the third best female player in Africa. Another Nigerian, Olufunke Oshonaike moved down three places to be ranked 177 in the world while Ajoke Ojomu moved down five places to now rank 217 in the world.

The list also sees not-too-lucky Segun Toriola who lost 13 places to down-hit 172 in the world while Tobi Falana completes Nigeria’s top five ranked players, standing tall at the 448th position. The latest ITTF world ranking was made official as and of 27th of February, 2022.
