Danfodiyo Varsity Declares Lectures Free Period For New Students

The management of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, under the able leadership of the Vice-Chancellor through the office of the Registrar has announced two days as free lectures day. The two days are the 17th (Friday) and the 20th Monday, December 2021.

According to the memorandum signed by the Academic Secretary Mr. U. F. Abubakar for the Registrar is to allow the students of this amazing citadel of learning to take part in both rehearsal and the actual matriculation ceremony.

PEN PRESS gathered that UG 1, UG 2, and the fresh postgraduate students are hence advised to be in attendance since the august occasion is targeted at celebrating them.

The press statement is titled "Lectures Free Period" which further states vital information about the schedule of the event, noting that the rehearsal will start at 4.00 pm on Friday while the main event which is the matriculation ceremony will hold on Monday at 10.00 am prompt.

The memorandum is addressed to Provost, Deans, CHS, and Heads of Teaching Units, urging the students to share the information to reach all and sundry so that every Faculty, Department, or Unit will be carried along on the new development.

In an interview with AbdulSalam AbdulMujeeb, a 100-Level student of Veterinary Medicine said that he is glad about the new development, stating that the occasion is a rare opportunity for a lucky student like him.

Amina A. A, a 100-Level student of Law noted that she cannot wait to obtain her matriculation gown from the Dean Students' Affairs.

"I wish I had no test today, I would have gone for my gown. I thank UDUS authority for this good thing," she asserted.

Aduagba Agaka, a 200-level student from Modern European Languages and Linguistics commended the efforts of the school management towards ensuring that the UDUS students participate in the matriculation ceremony.
