It's no myth, but a glaring fact that most people constrain the meaning of education to only having high intelligence quotients, which is wrong.
People disregard other quotients, which are equally paramount as an ingredient of erudition or scholarship.
Education, as a whole, entails four powerful quotients, namely Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Social Quotient (SQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ), and Adversity Quotient (AQ).
The intelligence quotient is the foremost and most integral part of education. This enables one to comprehend and retain information and find solutions to intricacies. Students need this to pass exams and do well in their academic pursuits.
Social Quotient (SQ) is the second. This is what students need to know about making friends, how to associate with them, and how to make their relationships stand the test of time.
The third is the Emotional Quotient (EQ), which is equally important, but people give it little or no attention. A person's EQ determines how he feels towards others; empathy towards fellow humans and even animals.
It's about protecting other people's feelings, refraining from what hurt them, and trying not to harm them at all costs. People that lack this tend to appear sadistic, cruel and nonchalant.
The Fourth and last is the Adversity Quotient (AQ). This component of education is relevant in times of distress, predicaments and calamity.
I want to emphasize this one because the lack of 'AQ' has pushed a hantle of people into irredeemable circumstances. Some go extreme by committing suicide, and according to The Revelation, suicide is the second leading cause of death.
Problems, regardless of how huge or complex they may seem, are surmountable. Discussing them with a few reasonable people is a viable way to overcome them.
Not for any reason should one think of suicide. It does no more than keep you away from your loved ones, inflicting pain on them.
The bottom line is all these quotients are equally important, and everyone has to imbibe them.
I term the ability to imbibe the four quotients optimally the 'Application Quotient' because it is the essence of education.
