PIDGIN TORI: Wetin I Talk After Screening Wey PEN Press Do For New Members

Promise Eze writes,

Despite say I come late to observe how di screening take be—I bin go church—my editor–in–chief still allow me sensitize our new writers for A134 yesterday after di oral and written screening.

I dey happy to see a lot of students wey wan join us for PEN PRESS to dey do wetin we dey do. Students from different faculties don show interest to become PEN PRESS journalists. Dis na good thing and e dey make me jolly.

I tell di new intakes say make dem take writing very serious because dem fit carve out careers for demsef with di writing wey dem wan do. I give dem example of one recent graduate wey get work with one media house even before him go service. I talk say to join no be problem but na to dey consistent be di main thing. E get plenti pipo wey follow me join pen press but today all of dem don loss. Person wey no dey consistent no go fit achieve wetin him plan to achieve.

I also tell dem say make dem learn how to balance their education with extracurricular activities so that dem go do well for school. Dem no suppose allow extracurricular activities take the time wey dem suppose use read. Time management na di koko. Anybody wey fit manage him time for dis campus go fit engage in extracurricular activities without any wahala.

Lastly, I tell dem say make dem dey read widely because na only readers fit write better thing.
Congrats to those wey come for di screening. Congrats to Kawthar Adejoke, Isaac Promise, Daud Musbaudeen and every oda person wey I no fit tag wey don show interest to write.

I wish dem well.

Promise Eze na di deputy editor—in—chief of PEN PRESS UDUS.
