Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed reports,
The National Association of Muslim Law Students of Nigeria of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto State Chapter (NAMLAS UDUS) has held an orientation program for the newly admitted law students at the Law Auditorium, Faculty of Law on the memorable 13 November 2021.
The cool Saturday was a memorable one because the program is second of its kind according to a press interview of the Ameer of the Association, Naziru Haruna Tambuwal. "The second one", he beamed with a smile and he observed that the new students should stand for studies.
The guest speaker, Barr Monsur talked on "How To Live Life On Campus As A Muslim Law Student". He said the Law is here is one blended with opportunities as it is a reflection of the Nigerian Constitution that both the Justices of the Supreme and Appeal Courts must be learned in Islamic Law and he further advised on character.
"Not just certificate but knowledge because the certificate is not a true picture of what one has acquired as the law is a professional field and being there is not on a platter of gold. The system is watching you indirectly so know why you're here", Dr. S. Adam who is an invited lecturer from the Faculty of Social Science advised.
After the opening recitation by Muazu Bashir Shaimau (a new law student), a lecturer of law from the University of Maiduguri said without lawyers there is no society and he supported this with legal maxims of equity. Notable personalities like the LSS Chief Judge's Representative Mahmud Abu; ECOWAS Chamber's Principal Partner Gobir, NAMLAS Headquarters Representative Amid Nazir Arwa, and students from the school and other universities.
This turned out to be a thing of joy for the Law Jambitos who have not tasted a thing of this kind before.
"I'm amazed", Gbolahan Badru who is a pundit among them exclaimed to Pen Press.
