Entrepreneurship Club of UDUS Continues Entrepreneurship Week

The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has continued her Entrepreneurship week on Thursday 18th November 2021, being the second day of the four days of the program.

The second day of the program was about sensitization and exhibition (Business Clinic and Advisory).

The event took place at the center for Entrepreneurship Development, UDUS. The opening prayer was done by the former Editor-in-Chief of Vanguard Press UDUS, A.A. Zubair, after which a welcome address was done by Mr. Gado Bature.

He commended the Director of the club, Prof. Maryam Koko, for a job well done and added that was actually the beginning of the decision of destiny.

The Director, Center for Entrepreneurship Development, UDUS, Prof. Maryam Koko enlightened those in attendance about the aims and objectives of the club.

"Our aims are creativity, culture, passion, and professionalism," she said.

She added that the center was established in 2012 with a full range of education and entrepreneurship studies, strongly influenced by the culture of the seat of the caliphate.

Hussein Abdulbasit who was the moderator of the event introduced the external officials starting from Dr. Dahirudeen Bala, the manager, Bank of Industry, Sokoto and Zamfara Axis, Mr. Ibrahim Muhammad Mustapha from the Central Bank of NIGERIA, and his colleague who is an alumnus of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Mr. Bello Issa.

Dr. Dahirudeen Bala from the bank of Industry spoke about the opportunities that are available for both undergraduates and graduate entrepreneurs. He gave out some tips for young entrepreneurs to stand firm, advised them not to be discouraged.

He also made mention of an opportunity going on for graduates that have completed their National youth service corps program and are willing to start-up businesses.

He added that there is a kind of loan made available for them to access with just a few requirements which he mentioned.

Mallam Ibrahim Muhammad Mustapha, a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) also discussed business plans for entrepreneurs, risk-taking as the first, followed by mitigants to the risk, and lastly market.

He shared his experiences and advised students to be selfless entrepreneurs to learn how to create wealth.

However, the entrepreneurs in attendance showcased their handworks and businesses plans at the end of the program.
