The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has on 6th September 2021, approved the affiliation of Adamu Augie College of Education, Argungu, Kebbi State to the University.
This was disclosed in a letter sent to the college's provost from the office of the UDUS registrar and signed by the secretary, Mallam U. F. Abubakar, on Monday, 6th September 2021, with the ref no: UDUS/R/ACA/036/Vol.IV.
According to the letter, students who run their Education Degree on some particular courses at the Adamu Augie College of Education will be awarded Usmanu Danfodiyo University's certificate upon completion of their courses.
The letter reads: "Following the application and the affiliation of Bachelor of Education programmes a team was set by the University to inspect the facilities for the purpose of that affiliation.
"The University management has considered the report and recommendation of the team and decided and approved that the Adamu Augie College of Education, Argungu in affiliation to the University runs the following programmes:
B.sc Ed. Geography.
B.sc Ed. physics.
B.sc Ed. biology.
B.sc Ed. Chemistry.
B.sc Ed. Islamic studies.
B.sc Ed. English and
B.sc Ed. Primary education."
The management also enjoined the institution to accept the provisional terms of affiliation attached to the letter
before the Memorandum of Action between them comes into action.
"Please find attachment provisional terms of affiliation pending coming into full effect of the memorandum of action (MoA) between the University and your Institution," it states.
Hamid Fatimah Omotayo is a 200 level student of Education and Biology, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto.
